In 1962 the Suwannee River Area Council voted to develop the property in to the primary camping facility of the council. Wallwood Boy Scout Reservation was then dedicated on July 17, 1966. The camp has undergone numerous improvements since then and is continuing to change and improve to meet the needs of today's scouts and leaders.

The Blue Angels performed their first flight demonstration less than a year later in June 1946 at their home base, Naval Air Station (NAS) Jacksonville, Florida. Six decades later they have moved to Pensacola, FL and perform before million every year. The Troop will be attending the squadron’s show at the Jacksonville Naval Air Station.

Andersonville, Georgia - March 9-11, 2012

Camp Sumter, commonly called Andersonville, was one of the largest military prisons established by the Confederacy during the Civil War. In existence for 14 months, over 45,000 Union soldiers were confined at the prison. Of these, almost 13,000 died from disease, poor sanitation, malnutrition, overcrowding, and exposure to the elements. The largest number held in the 26½-acre stockade at any one time was more than 32,000, during August of 1864. Today the beauty of the prison site belies the suffering that once took place inside the stockade.
